Second Verse Races and Skill Tree

Community documentation lists Races and a Skill Tree as core Second Verse progression systems. Both sit alongside weapons, fruits, and equipment upgrades, but they are described as character-building tools rather than loot slots.

Races

The community wiki describes races as a rollable system:

  • Players roll for races.
  • Races grant unique passives.
  • Races can also be hybrid, which also grant unique passives.

No verified source on this wiki names individual races, roll costs, pity, or hybrid combinations. If an in-game menu shows a race name, treat that live UI as more current than this page.

Skill tree

The community wiki splits the skill tree into three named branches:

BranchCommunity-reported role
CombatUnlock nodes to make the character stronger
DurabilityUnlock nodes to make the character stronger
MovementUnlock nodes to make the character stronger

Players spend skill points earned through leveling. Quest completion is the documented way to level up. Node names, point costs, caps, and reset options are not documented here.

How these systems fit progression

Community findings place races and skill trees inside the same loop as exploration and bosses:

  1. Complete quests to level up and earn skill points.
  2. Spend points in Combat, Durability, and Movement.
  3. Roll or hybridize races for passives.
  4. Defeat bosses for weapons and items that can then be ascended or enhanced.

See the Progression Guide for the full loop and Weapons and Gear for equipment systems.
